Subaccounts let you organize different strategies, teams, or activities beneath one Main Account. Each Subaccount has its own deposit addresses, balances, orders, members, permissions, and account history, so activity in one stays separate from the others.
Open Subaccounts to create a new Subaccount or switch between the accounts you can access.
What each Subaccount keeps separate
Every Subaccount has its own:
- Funding and Trading balances
- orders and fills
- members and roles
- permissions
- API keys
- activity and financial records.
Someone who can use one Subaccount does not automatically gain access to your Main Account or another Subaccount.
When to create a Subaccount
Create a Subaccount when you want a clear boundary between different types of activity. For example, you can keep a trading strategy separate, give a team access to only the assets they manage, or use a dedicated account for an automated trading system.
Use as many Subaccounts as you need, but give each one a clear purpose. Subaccounts sit directly beneath the Main Account and cannot contain other Subaccounts.
Move assets between accounts
Balances do not move between your Main Account and Subaccounts automatically. Use an Internal Transfer to move available assets between your accounts without withdrawing them from Polyester.
Each account still keeps its own Funding and Trading balances after the transfer.
Control who can do what
A member's role defines their general responsibility, while the Subaccount's permissions define what is available inside that account. API keys use the same access controls and are scoped to the account where you create them.
See Members & Roles for people, Permissions & Policies for account limits, and API Keys for programmatic access.
