Polyester charges a trading fee whenever a spot order fills. Your fee rate depends on your VIP tier and whether the fill is classified as maker or taker. For eligible buy orders, you can also choose which asset pays the fee.
There is no fee to place or cancel an order that does not fill.
Spot trading fee schedule
Fees are calculated from the value of each completed fill. If an order fills in several parts, the applicable fee is calculated separately for each fill.

| Role | When it applies |
|---|---|
| Maker | Your order rests on the order book before another order fills against it. |
| Taker | Your order fills immediately against liquidity already resting on the order book. |
A limit order can be both: any quantity that fills immediately pays the taker rate, while quantity that rests and fills later pays the maker rate.
Maker rebates
Polyester supports maker rebates: a negative maker fee credits your account when an eligible maker order fills. Exact maker rebate rates are coming soon and will be published here.
Choose how your fee is paid
Most exchanges decide the fee asset for you. On Polyester, an eligible buy order lets you choose Quote or Received from the Fee Source selector in the Order Form. Your choice appears again when you review the order.
- Quote pays the fee with the quote asset you are spending. When buying BTC/USDT, the fee is paid in USDT.
- Received deducts the fee from the base asset you receive. When buying BTC/USDT, the fee is paid in BTC.
The percentage rate does not change. The fee is calculated in the selected asset:
| Fee source | Calculation | Effect on a buy order |
|---|---|---|
| Quote | Fill value in the quote asset ร fee rate | You spend slightly more quote asset and receive the full base quantity. |
| Received | Base quantity received ร fee rate | You spend the entered quote amount and receive slightly less base asset. |
Let's say Bitcoin is currently trading at $100,000 and you buy $1,000 of BTC at a 0.08% fee rate.
- With Quote, the fee is 0.80 USDT. You spend 1,000.80 USDT and receive 0.01 BTC.
- With Received, the fee is 0.000008 BTC. You spend 1,000 USDT and receive 0.009992 BTC after the fee.
Sell-order fees are deducted from the quote asset received from the sale. For example, selling 0.01 BTC for 1,000 USDT at a 0.08% rate returns 999.20 USDT after the 0.80 USDT fee.
Referral discounts and rewards
Referral codes affect positive trading fees in two different ways:
| Who receives the benefit | Benefit | What it applies to |
|---|---|---|
| Referred trader | 4% lower trading fees | Positive maker or taker fees on eligible fills |
| Referrer | 15% of the referred user's paid trading fees | The fee remaining after the referred trader's discount |
The referral benefit is calculated from the trading fee, not the order's full value.
Let's say a referred trader completes a $1,000 fill at a 0.08% fee rate:
- The standard trading fee is 0.80 USDT.
- The 4% referral discount saves the trader 0.032 USDT.
- The referred trader pays 0.768 USDT.
- The referrer earns 15% of that paid fee, or 0.1152 USDT.
Referral discounts and rewards apply only when a positive trading fee is charged. They do not create a negative fee or maker rebate.
