# Chart Trading

Move orders and triggers on the Polyester Chart, start new orders from a price, and use indicators, scale controls, fullscreen, and the mini-player.

Chart trading lets you see your orders and triggers on the [Polyester Chart](https://testnet.polyester.com/docs/user-docs/trade/widgets/polyester-chart) and change them by moving their lines. You can also start a new order from any price.

Chart trading needs a connected account on a desktop-sized screen. To hide it, open **Customize** on the chart and set **Chart trading** to **Disabled**.

## See your orders on the chart

Your open orders, triggers, and attached take-profit, stop-loss, and trailing stop legs appear as labeled lines at their prices. TWAP and Ladder instructions show their schedule and levels. While you fill in the Order Form, a preview shows where the order would sit, and fill markers show where your orders traded.

## Move a level

Drag a line to a new price. You can move an open order's price, an attached take-profit or stop-loss, a trigger price, an activation price, and a Ladder's working orders.

What happens when you release depends on [Order confirmation](https://testnet.polyester.com/docs/user-docs/trade/order-confirmations):

- **On:** a small editor opens at the new price. Confirm it there, or select **Open full editor** for the complete dialog. Closing the editor puts the line back.
- **Off:** the change is sent as soon as you release.

If Polyester refuses the change, the line returns to its previous price and the reason appears on screen.

> **Moving an order's price replaces it**

> Changing the price of a Limit order creates a new order at the back of the queue at that price. Quantity filled before the change stays final. See [Modify an open order](https://testnet.polyester.com/docs/user-docs/trade/manage-orders#modify-an-open-order).

## Start an order from a price

Hover over the chart and select the **+** that appears at the right, or right-click the price area. The menu offers the orders that make sense at that price:

- **Buy limit** and **Buy limit + TP/SL** at or below the last price.
- **Sell limit** and **Sell limit + TP/SL** at or above the last price.
- **Sell stop** below the last price, and **Buy stop** above it.

Your choice fills in the Order Form. Nothing is placed until you submit it. The preview lines stay draggable, so you can adjust the form's prices from the chart first.

## Chart tools

These controls change only what you see. They do not place an order, reserve a balance, or create a trigger.

- **Indicators.** Select **Indicators** to search and add one. Each indicator in the chart's legend can be hidden, edited, or removed.
- **Auto-scale.** Keeps the visible candles fitted to the price axis. Use the button in the chart header or the right-click menu, and turn it off to set the axis yourself.
- **Logarithmic scale.** Right-click the chart and open **Price scale** to choose **Linear** or **Logarithmic**. A logarithmic axis gives equal percentage moves equal height.
- **Fullscreen.** Select **Fullscreen** in the chart header. Press `Esc` or select **Exit fullscreen** to return.
- **Expand.** On the Standard layout, select **Expand** to let the chart fill the workspace, and **Collapse** to return.
- **Miniplayer.** Select **Miniplayer** to keep the chart in view while you work elsewhere in Polyester. Where the browser supports it, the chart opens in its own window that stays on top. Otherwise it floats in the page, and you can drag it to any corner. Select **Restore chart** in the original panel to bring it back.
