# Funds

Compare Unified Trading and Funding balances for the two Assets in the active Pair.

**The Funds widget keeps the balances relevant to the active Pair beside the market.** It shows the base and quote Assets in both Unified Trading and Funding for the selected Main Account or Subaccount.

## What the widget shows

| Balance area    | What it means                                                                              |
| --------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Unified Trading | Balance held for trading. Open orders and other active work can reserve part of it.        |
| Funding         | On-chain balance available to withdraw, transfer to another account, or move into Trading. |

The widget follows the active Pair, so it is a focused balance view rather than a complete portfolio. Changing the Pair changes which two Assets appear.

## Read a Trading balance

Open a Unified Trading amount's balance detail to compare its three values.

| Value             | What it means                                                    |
| ----------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Total Balance     | Posted Trading balance before active reservations are subtracted |
| Reserved Balance  | Amount set aside for orders, triggers, or other pending spends   |
| Available Balance | Amount that can support a new eligible order or transfer         |

An accepted order can reduce Available Balance before any fill occurs. A reservation is a hold, not proof that the Asset has been spent.

Trigger families do not all reserve at the same moment:

| Standalone stop-loss or take-profit               | Reserves capital when the trigger is created                                   |
| Standalone trailing stop                          | Reserves capital when the trigger is created                                   |
| Standalone TWAP                                   | No upfront trigger hold; each slice reserves when admitted                     |
| Standalone LINEAR Ladder                          | No parent hold; all children are admitted immediately and reserve individually |
| Attached take-profit, stop-loss, or trailing risk | Starts with zero reserve and arms after the parent fills                       |

Reserved Balance follows the lifecycle of each order or trigger rather than applying one timing rule to every strategy.

## Add or move funds

Use 'Deposit' to open the deposit page with the relevant Asset selected. Use 'Transfer' to move an available balance between eligible Polyester balance areas or accounts.
