# Overview

Open Settings to update how Polyester looks and displays information. Choices save in cookies on this browser.

Preferences change how Polyester looks, sounds, and displays information in this browser. They do not change your balances, orders, or account security.

## Open Settings

Click the gear in the top nav to open **Settings**. On the trading page, the same settings are also in the footer.

Update a control under **Personalization** or **Localization**. The change applies as you choose it.

## Where choices are saved

Your choices save in cookies on this browser only. They are not stored on your Polyester account. Another browser, another device, or cleared cookies starts from the defaults.
