# Account Statements

Create a report of your balances, trades, fees, and account activity for a selected period.

**[Account Statements](https://testnet.polyester.com/account/statements)** turn your account activity into a downloadable report for a selected period. Use them for recordkeeping, accounting, or reviewing how your balances changed.

Statements are created separately for each Main Account or Subaccount, so the report matches the account you selected.

## Create a statement

1. Choose the account

Select the Main Account or Subaccount you want included.

2. Choose the reporting period

Set the start date, end date, and timezone for the report.

3. Choose the format

Select the available PDF or data export based on how you plan to use the statement.

4. Generate and download

Generate the statement, then save the finished file to a protected location.

## What a statement includes

Your statement identifies the account, reporting period, timezone, and generation time. It can include:

- opening and closing balances
- deposits, withdrawals, and internal transfers
- orders, fills, fees, and rebates
- the asset and quantity for each entry
- ledger, flow, order, fill, or transaction references.

The exact sections depend on the activity in the selected account and period.

## Match a statement to your account

Use the opening and closing balances to understand the period as a whole. For more detail, match statement rows to your [Ledger](https://testnet.polyester.com/account/ledger), orders, trades, or transaction history using their IDs and timestamps.

> **A statement covers a fixed period**
>
> A downloaded statement does not update after it is generated. Use your current Dashboard and account pages for live balances and active orders.

## Protect downloaded statements

Statements can contain account IDs, smart account addresses, balances, trading history, and transfer details.

- Store them in an encrypted or access-controlled location.
- Share only the account, period, and fields the recipient needs.
- Check the recipient and delivery method before sending a file.
- Remove unrelated personal information before sharing when appropriate.

Never add private keys, MFA codes, recovery codes, or API private keys to an exported report.
